RONG源艺术空间带来艺术家徐大卫、褚超的双个展《非现实表达》。此次展览将展出两位艺术家近期创作的最新作品。

RONG Art Space presents “Non-Realistic Expression”, a double solo exhibition by artists Xu Dawei and Chu Chao. The exhibition will feature the latest works recently created by the two artists.

非现实表达是一个涉及多个艺术和文化领域的概念，它通常与对现实世界的超越、虚构、想象以及情感的真实表达有关。非现实表达在艺术、文学、电影等作品中，非现实表达通过虚构、想象、夸张等手法，展现一个与现实世界不同的世界或情境，强调情感、心理、梦境等非现实层面的真实。

Non-Realistic Expression explores a concept spanning multiple artistic and cultural domains, often intertwined with the transcendence, fiction, imagination, and authentic expression of emotions in the real world. In various forms of art, literature, and cinema, Non-Realistic Expression employs techniques such as fabrication, imagination, and exaggeration to present a world or scenario distinct from reality, emphasizing emotional, psychological, and dreamlike dimensions of truth.

徐大卫、褚超都倾向于在作品中投射个人的情感和情绪。徐大卫通过直觉和想象来描绘内心的风景，实现现实之外的思考和心理对话。而褚超的创作也往往由情绪出发，以灵感带动，作品呈现出自然的生动和节奏。徐大卫的作品常常跳脱出现实之外，通过抽象的色彩和线条来构建非现实的场景。褚超虽然涉足传统艺术领域，但他的创作也带有一种超越现实的意味，尤其是在他将传统与现代相融合的过程中，创造出具有在地性、当代性的抽象作品。

Xu Dawei and Chu Chao both tend to project personal emotions and sentiments in their works. Xu Dawei portrays inner landscapes through intuition and imagination, engaging in reflections and psychological dialogues beyond reality. Similarly, Chu Chao's creative process often begins with emotions, guided by inspiration, resulting a natural vividness and rhythmic flow in his artworks. Xu Dawei's pieces frequently transcend reality, constructing unreal scenes through abstract colors and lines. While Chu Chao ventures into traditional art domains, his creations carry a sense of surpassing reality, particularly evident in his fusion of traditional and modern elements to create abstract works that are both localized and contemporary.

Xu Dawei: A Solitary Night Wanderer

徐大卫的创作更多的基于直觉和情感，他的作品是主观和直觉式的表达。他的创作过程常常开始于一片空白，没有叙事的脚本或事先的计划，而是让画面内容在涂抹中慢慢成形。这种方式赋予了作品更加自然和顺畅的情绪流露。作品围绕着自然环境和不同物象的组合，来营造一种神秘、荒诞、趣味性的超现实氛围。

Xu Dawei's creation is predominantly driven by intuition and emotion, resulting in subjective and intuitive expressions. His artistic journey often begins with a blank canvas, devoid of narrative scripts or preconceived plans, allowing the imagery to gradually take shape through strokes. This method imbues his works with a natural and fluid emotional resonance. His pieces employ the displacement, combination, and transformation of different objects, creating atmospheres of anxiety, melancholy, tension, mystery, or Interestingness.

While Xu Dawei's works incorporate abstract elements, they often also contain traces of concrete objects. Through the fusion of abstract and concrete elements, he creates a unique visual effect that allows viewers to experience a dreamlike sensation that transcends reality when engaging with his artworks.

褚超：一个坚持在地性的孤勇者

Chu Chao: A solitary champion persisting in localization

褚超的工作内容包括书法、陶刻、绘画、音乐、写诗等多个领域.纵观褚超每个阶段的艺术创作，他始终坚持了一个中国艺术家的文化身份。这在 80 后的艺术家中极为少见。本次展出艺术家褚超最新的作品，该阶段的作品以西方现代绘画的形式和油画的色彩技巧，参与中国传统绘画的美学理念，试图把中国传统美学精神与西方抽象艺术相融合，展现出开阔的空间和狂野的笔触，让画面呈现出强烈的视觉冲击和身临其境的感受。

Chu Chao's artistic endeavors span across calligraphy, ceramic carving, painting, music, poetry, and more. Throughout his career, he has steadfastly maintained his cultural identity as a Chinese artist, which is minority among artists born in the 1980s. In this exhibition, Chu Chao presents his latest works which incorporate elements of Western modern painting techniques and the vibrant colors of oil painting, while engaging with the aesthetic principles of traditional Chinese painting. His aim is to fuse the spirit of traditional Chinese aesthetics with Western abstract art, creating expansive spaces and employing bold brushstrokes to evoke strong visual impact and immersive experiences.

作品虚构的情境或故事，与现实世界保持一定的距离。尽管情境是虚构的，但强调情感和心理的真实，能够触动观众的内心。

Chu Chao's works often depict fictional scenarios or narratives that maintain a certain distance from the real world. Despite their fictitious nature, these works emphasize emotional and psychological authenticity, capable of resonating deeply with the audience's inner world.

褚超《无题》

两位艺术家的创作中，作品如同两股交织的梦境，各自独立却又相互呼应。每一幅作品，都是时间长河中，对“非现实”这一主题的深刻探讨与独特诠释。空间、情感、传统与现代的碰撞，在两位艺术家的笔下汇聚成流，引领观者穿越现实的边界。

The works of the two artists are like two intertwined dreams, independent yet echoing each other. Each work is a profound exploration and unique interpretation of the theme of “non-reality” in the long river of time. The collision of space, emotion, tradition and modernity converges into a stream under the brush of the two artists, leading the viewer to cross the border of reality.

1980年出生于浙江，现工作生活于上海。

2005年毕业于中国美术学院综合艺术系综合绘画工作室。

褚超 Chu Chao

当代艺术家，1989年出生于宜兴。

2014年毕业于南京艺术学院环境艺术系。

Contemporary artist, born in Yixing in 1989. graduated from the Environmental Art Department of Nanjing University of the Arts in 2014.
