又生空间将于2024年8月31日至9月29日推出艺术家丁桥的个展“神奇秘谱”。展览由魏祥奇策划，集中呈现艺术家近年来创作的18幅作品。2023年始，丁桥在成书于明代初年的古琴谱集《神奇秘谱》中深切感受到中国音乐、绘画和诗词的魅力，她甚至认为自己已经找到解锁中国画学观念的一把钥匙，这类近于一种觉醒式的力量，让她能够自由出入于中国绘画史的历史时空中。
从丁桥对音乐的选择上看，无论是“神奇秘谱”系列还是早先的“Gnossienne”系列，都在呈现的超越世俗羁绊的仙境、秘境，呈现的是对“空”的精神体验。丁桥没有像康定斯基那样通过表现性的笔触呈现强烈的情绪变化，其画面中的旋律多是深沉内敛的，展现的是自我身心内外的合二为一，是对自我内在宇宙的观照。通过《神奇秘谱》《Gnossienne》系列曲目，丁桥找到与古人、仙人对话的通道，使她能够在混沌的光亮中寻觅到弘扬中国画学精神的一条光明大道。
这种听觉与视觉联动的创作方式，让丁桥能不囿于时人具体的绘画形式语言之中，推动她在更深远的文化空间中理解和思考艺术创作的观念性和方法论，同时通过这些“太古遗音”“霞外神品”曲目的字里行间，揣摩和体味中国文化精神维度的雄浑博大。
CYCLE SPACE is delighted to announce the solo exhibition of artist Ding Qiao,“Shen Qi Mi Pu" which will be held from August 31st to September 29th, 2024. Curated by Wei Xiangqi, the exhibition showcases 18 works created by the artist in recent years. Since 2023, Ding Qiao has deeply felt the charm of Chinese music, painting, and poetry through the ancient collection of guqin (a seven-stringed plucked zither) music scores, “Shen Qi Mi Pu" compiled in the early Ming Dynasty. She even believes that she has found a key to unlocking the essence of Chinese painting, a kind of awakening force that enables her to freely traverse the historical timeline of Chinese painting.
In Ding Qiao's choice of music, both the“Shen Qi Mi Pu" series and her earlier "Gnossienne" series present transcendent fairylands and hidden realms beyond worldly constraints, embodying a spiritual experience of "Kong" Unlike Kandinsky, who expressed intense emotional changes through expressive brushstrokes, Ding Qiao's melodies in her paintings are mostly profound and restrained, revealing a unity of body and mind, a contemplation of one's inner universe. Through the series of “Shen Qi Mi Pu" and "Gnossienne," Ding Qiao has found a channel to dialogue with the ancients and immortals, enabling her to seek a bright path to promote the spirit of Chinese painting amidst the chaos and light.
This creative approach that intertwines auditory and visual senses frees Ding Qiao from the constraints of contemporary painting's specific formal languages, propelling her to understand and reflect on the conceptuality and methodology of artistic creation within a broader cultural context. Meanwhile, through the profound words and lines of these "Ancientlegacy of music" and "Celestial masterpieces," she delves into and savors the grandeur and vastness of the spiritual dimension of Chinese culture.
丁桥，1986年生于山东，2017年硕士毕业于中央美术学院中国画专业。2016年-2017年于加拿⼤安⼤略皇家博物馆作为邀请艺术家参与中国古代艺术品研究，现⼯作⽣活于北京。她的作品曾多次在苏富比纽约展出，并参与香港巴塞尔、乙观艺术中心、中央美术学院美术馆、今日美术馆、朗空美术馆等机构展览。
Ding Qiao, born in 1986 in Shandong, graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) with a Master's Degree in Chinese Painting in 2017, and participated in the study of ancient Chinese artworks as an invited artist at the Royal Museum of Art in Ontario, Canada in 2016-2017,she is now living and working in Beijing. Her works have been exhibited at Sotheby's New York and participated in exhibitions at Basel in Hong Kong, Yiguan Art Center, the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the Today Art Museum, and the Langkong Art Museum, among others.
魏祥奇，1983年生于安徽砀山。2010年毕业于广州美术学院获硕士学位，2013年毕业于中国艺术研究院获博士学位。现为中国美术馆研究馆员，工作生活于北京。主要从事美术展览策划和近现代美术史研究工作。在中国美术馆和海外策划及执行策划了30余个展览项目。执行策划的展览获文化和旅游部多种多次奖项；入选文化和旅游部2021年度全国美术馆青年策展人扶持计划项目。
Wei Xiangqi, born in Dangshan, Anhui in 1983. He graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a master’s degree in 2010, and obtained his doctoral degree from the Chinese National Academy of Arts in 2013. He is currently a research fellow at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) and resides in Beijing. He engages in art exhibition planning and research on modern and contemporary art history. He has curated and organized over 30 exhibition projects at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) and overseas. Some of the exhibitions he curated have received multiple awards from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of The People’s Republic of China. He was selected as a participant in the National Art Museum Young Curator Support Programme in 2021, which is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of The People’s Republic of China.
