汪远强的照片,亦如日记,散淡,无目的,无意义,无主题地仅仅是些词句片段,娓娓道来,如诗如诉,诵念他的还乡。他选择拍摄新安江,悠长两百多公里,沿岸恰恰仍保留着些许古风。大约从2014年开始,一条江的内心图像,作为先导而具体的工作,则是他漫不经心地观看。

“可望而不可即”,其已经成为了汪远强的符指,一种他惯用的悬念伎俩。往往选择一个远远观看的视角,以传达他的诠释,叙事手段的诠释;农人走过古老的桥去劳作;于山坡于水田,于大山深处,于家门口吃饭,于水边行走,一切祥和如春,一切恍若梦中。在此“在水一方”的词性得以重述,得以此组照片冠以“在水一方”之名;能指的魅力,能指所生发的语言的声音形象;水的能指和新安江特定的所指。产生了联系必然。诠释符号需要先熟悉一套被用来沟通意义的惯例。
